Not only that, it was actually planned for The Sims 2! There's an unused satellite dish mesh (no texture sadly) and references to the whole system scattered about.

The base game only has four channels, which is probably why it was cut.

I don't know, but it would be kidn of cool to have like TV channels that cater to specific hobbies or build skills other than cooking. Like, for example, a science themed channel that increases logic.

Yup. There are several custom channels. I know of one for toddlers and there are a few adult channels. XD

I've had a 'naughty' TV channel before (on the MTS adult site) and the pixels watched porn. Bad pixels!

Edit: Just re-logged into that site, and it was on the computer & the TV! Still bad pixels!

I'd love numenor's magazine rack incorporated into all bookcases. It's a drag having to use a OSMP to hide it so it looks realistic and tidy. I love it because it deals with magazines and college assignments and other bookcases don't do that.

I'd like to see a mod that gives the biological father's last name to a baby born in game, instead of the mother's.

Something that tunes the appearance of pack leaders to where they appear more often, but not like the "100% LoTP" mod which will often lead to a bunch of pack leaders appearing and getting into lots of fights every night.

In homecrafter you can make tiled patterns for floors (setting a design to be spread across a certain number of tiles). I want something similar for walls.

I'd love to find a tunnel I can jam into the side of the hill where the train comes out. Probably impossible considering you can't put hood deco on top of other hood deco.
Also--perhaps a mod to make a sim with any cashiering badge wait just a tad longer if a cashier at a business they're at is slow. I know I've become more patient with new cashiers since I learned the register.

Criquette's train sets are great. Though I must fiddle about with the alignment of that again. I've got better at arranging hood deco since I made that.

I think some hood deco can be flagged as non-colliding so they can be overlayed over other deco (or even a lot).

it seems to be a rather complicated task as it involves changes in Global BHAV 0x0315 Sim-Create New Sim-Child which is also used by BHAV 0x100C Adoption - Create Child (Group 0x7FA5FB07)
BHAV Sim-Create New Sim-Child takes 4 parameters: New Sim NiD, Pregnant Sim NiD, Father Sim NiD, Twins?
It seems that a call in that BHAV to prim 0x0001 Generic Sim Call (Add Child to Family Relationship Array) is the place where the child's names are put into the game.

or you could just use the sim blender to change the baby's last name.

Sim Blender does this? Where? All I can find is change first name, or copy first name to last. No option to just edit the last name, or to copy a last name to a last name.

Either I must get my sims married before the baby is born, either I use SimPE to edit the baby's last name.
I do the latter.
Not every sim in my 'Hood wants to get married, though some wants to have babies who carry their dad's name.

You have to take the intermediary step of changing the first name to the last name. You change Justin Jones to Smith Jones, then you copy the first name to last, so he's Smith Smith, then you change the first name back to Justin. There's supposedly something in the game mechanics that requires the extra step.

It might have to do with how every instance of changing the last name of an existing Sim is always copying instead of creating.

Christianlov's "Last Name Copier" should allow you to copy a last name from another sim. I've never tried using it on an infant, though.
