Lolwut? What kind of edit did you do? It is only expected to disappear when you place it in the inventory. Should be reported as a bug, not here. |
I simply added new memory to the Sim, lol. I have no idea which mod to report it on.

You could look in OETreeDelete.xls and see what code made the deletion. It shows the line number too.
If the couch still exists but is invisible, then I have no clue, as I don't do that.
I think this thread is about quirks that exist in the core game itself.

The mod does some deletions to get names on screen. All fridge inventory and Badges when bringing up the menu, and the memory itself when adding. |
Sorry, why on earth is your memory mod messing around with the fridge inventory and badges?

With the badge editor I can set the level just before the next kind of metal and check the message that appears, and also observe the level. Spawning a badge object has a small impact in speed as it doesn't have a graphical appearance. Doing this way allows to add more memory skills, which currently there are 18 of. I spawn house inventory to show the contents of slot 0, otherwise multiple food dishes would appear the same.

I had a cage with a parrot outside on a porch, when a storm came and a lightning struck a tree and it caught fire. The bird started panicking and squealing the same way as a sim does :D |
Don't leave parrots on outdoor balconies in apartments. When playing the other apartments, they'll starve.

I have the parrot on a house lot, so when I play the sims on other lots, it is not affecting the parrot anyhow

This is a trade-off for not having the Limo come late at night and forcibly "arrest" the Sim. YMMV as to whether it's worth it.

"Influence to... Play with" can select "swing around" for two adult Sims. This resulted in a too many iterations error, lol. |
I had a dream like that recently. Me and another dude swinging each other around. I don't have whatever expansion pack that interaction came with, but I've seen it in other people's games so I thought of The Sims 2 in the dream.
I am Error.

That will save me a ton of time in the future, rather than messing around.

So, very rarely the (modded) wait on community return will break in my game and say returning in some absurdly long time. By rare, I mean last night was the first time it's done it in this play through. Anyway, I found out instead of messing around trying to reset the sim to force them to return, I can just return to neighbourhood without saving, enter another lot use the globe to disable that feature then return to the previously played lot, and low and behold the sim just returns and walks right up like nothing happened. That will save me a ton of time in the future, rather than messing around. |
You can use Charles Object Editor to select the Sim and bring them back. I don't remember whether 'teleport near editor' is enough or if you have to crash them.
If you've not got it, install Limey's fix and make sure it loads after. It fixes some issues.

Interesting. The first issue mentioned (close the box/reload, sim doesn't come back) has never occurred to me, and I've done both of those things many, many times (never even thought about it tbh).
The second issue I've had. Interesting, I'll have to test it carefully though as mine is bundled in with the whole T&A/A&N package, so it's not the stand-alone package version.
Regarding the object editor, how would that differ from teleport to mailbox? I tried that once before and while I did get my sim back, they were invisible.

I have definitely closed the dialogue. And probably saved with a sim off-lot, though I try not to. So I think this is what has happened to me in the past.
The first lot I loaded after I installed it, one of my sims said goodbye and walked off the lot, with his portrait disappearing, even though he lived there! I was confused about my memory and checked his GF's memory panel and indeed she did remember him moving in. After I took her to a community lot and came back home, he had reappeared by the mailbox. The next morning, he went off to work with no problems.
The fix is a separate/additional override file rather than a replacement, so I think it ought to work with either version
I use the sims as a psychology simulator...

Don't run with the scissors. I noticed them in the catalogue yesterday for the first time and thought "oh that looks funny", had a sim run with them and they just died while running, like what the heck EA. |
Didn't your mother tell you never to run with scissors? XD

She did, but I didn't think it applied to games.

Yeah... I swear TS4 kind of lost a lot of the accidental deaths you could have in TS2. In TS4 all lives seem always perfect, nothing ever goes wrong.
