It's been a while, but I'm still playing!
My main Widespot is sort of stalled out at the moment, because I'm not quite ready for what's due to happen next, but here's a looooong recap under the cut:
Because I'm dreading going into that Widespot, I'm playing around in another one - Veronaville with an attached Widespot RFD and Sim State. I'm going less by sim wants there, more by a plot that's developing in my head, but I'll save that story for later because I'm all typed out now.
My main Widespot is sort of stalled out at the moment, because I'm not quite ready for what's due to happen next, but here's a looooong recap under the cut:
Hamilton is about ready to reture; he's just using up his vacation days and waiting for Rocky to be ready to take his place as Mayor. It's one promotion away! Sandy still enjoys working, but then she's done it for a lot fewer years than Hamilton. Rocky and Gabriella finally got married - they were apparently reluctant to roll up the want, despite Gabriella being a family sim - and are now expecting their first child. They're not that far away from fulfilling Rocky's LTW of 50 dream dates.
Dixie and Garrett Hsu are basically just a happily married couple with three kids. (All three have ten playful points, so... it's a fun house.) Their oldest, London, has herself a steady girlfriend in Ashoka Ramaswami, and a clear view of what she wants out of life. Philiadelphia just turned teen. She has a crush on Bobby, Ottomas kid number 8 out of 10. Both girls are fortune sims like both their parents. Little Bronx (the surprise kid) just turned child, and has a personality point spread that reminds me of Woody.
In what will become the Wilkie house, Garrett Newson and Tommy Ottomas are just settling in after graduating college, waiting for Promise and Sadie to join them in a few years, at which point Garrett will be their co-parent. (Tommy is a romance sim so he won't want kids, and he says there are more than enough Ottomas spawn as it is.) Garrett's working as an artist, Tommy's trying to save enough money to start a business. If he can't, well, Promise was given one of Lana's, so they can run that. (After I rerolled his LTW in college, he decided he wants five top businesses, but I doubt I'll do that - he'll probably get permaplat from LTAs soon enough, anyway.
The main Ottomas house feels almost empty, with Sharla having moved downtown and the triplets off at college. There are only four kids left at home now! (After fulfilling his LTW, Peter has now decided he wants to marry off six kids, which seems like it should be very doable given how many he has.) Connor can't wait to go off to college, Bobby is enjoying teenhood, and the twins Darby and Brady are about to turn teen as well. Connor's sort-of-girlfriend Lona Lee Hart is at uni, so he's feeling left behind by more than his older sibs. Bobby returns Philadelphia's crush. Brady has an interesting personality - 10 outgoing, 9 active, 10 playful, 1 nice... Darby is mostly just there, so far, which makes me curious about what will happen when she turns teen and the hormones kick in.
The Hart house actually is empty compared to just about every other house - just Candy, dating Woody and working on her witchcraft, and Liz Tuija, who will soon be off to college. Oh, and the four small dogs, but one of those belongs to Lona Lee and will go live with her as soon as she graduates. Liz Tuija has boltage for both Anand Ramaswami and NPC Alvin Hart (no relation), but seems to be leaning more towards Anand. She wants to be an Icon, and have lots of fun! (She would actually like to go live downtown when she graduates, but Lona Lee needs to be downtown for her dance career, and someone has to come back live with Mom and inherit the house, so she'll just have to be famous from Widespot.)
In the Goode house, Herbert seems to be trying to either compete with or honor Skye's memory - he's a Science Teacher who has two alien kids. He also has a Bank Robber wife, and they have a third kid together. The oldest, Vera, is a social butterfly who comes home with every other kid from school, and they all want to be her friend. The second alien kid, Newt Ralph Goode, is still a toddler, and Faith's only biological child, little Kayo Tish Goode, is a baby. (I have a couple good boys' names lined up for them, but I'm running out of girl names!) Faith really wants Herbert to get abducted again, so I'm guessing she prefers for him to be the one who has to deal with pregnancy. She has three bolts with Douglas Jayapalan, but nothing's happened there - yet. He's been known to cheat on Ginger before.
The Ramaswamis are trying to replace the Beeches - all four members of the family are popularity sims. Nobody seems to be interested in Politics, though. Sanjay is all about the music, Priya constantly rolls up wants to hula, Anand is into science and wants to be a chef, Ashoka wants lots of friends and a happy family. With London, preferrably. Anand is having a hard time choosing between Liz Tuija Hart and Leah Gavigan, but assumes it'll work itself out somehow.
In the Mannsion, Rich is still chugging down elixir so he can get much younger women pregnant, in the hope that someone will produce a child that takes after him more than Junior or any of his grandkids do. To his great chagrin, all five of Junior's kids have 7 or 8 nice points. The baby girl he got off former cheerleader Stacy Mace (who lives with Goldie and Gavin Newson) has only one, as well as ten each of outgoing and neat, but I'm not sure if he's aware of that yet. (She also has his eyebrows and mouth. Yes!) Junior is an elder, which is really weird, and Mary will turn elder next round. Confidence still hasn't met a boy he likes who likes him back. There's a distinct lack of gay or bi teen boys around here - but college might be better. Love Mann will be a teen next round; despite his ten outgoing points his only non-related friend is Vera Goode, who's friends with everyone. Little Miracle Mann is an adorable toddler who looks just like his mommy and has almost the same personality. Mary's still in the medical career, now a Specialist, and seems content to stay there. (I imagine her as working in reproductive health, with a side project of trying to figure out a way to help Promise and Sadie have a child that's biologically both of theirs.) She spends her free time taking care of the kids, dating her husband, stargazing, and eating grilled cheese sandwiches. When Junior aged up to elder, her turn-on for grey hair kicked in, so they're now three-bolters.
Gavin and Goldie moved in their cheerleader friend Stacy when Goldie was pregnant with her second kid, figuring they'd need help juggling the kids, two careers, and Gavin's business. She was a great help with Gloria and little Valentine, but then she got pregnant by Rich shortly after Goldie realized she was pregnant again. But that was okay, right? Three adults could easily handle two babies and a toddler? Yeah... except Goldie had triplets. I'd already settled on Angel if she had a girl and a G name, made up for Gavin's adopted father, if it was a boy. I ended up with Angel, Galahad, and Felix (for Gavin's biological father, I guess) as well as Pepper Mace, all born in the same day. They're now all toddlers, Valentine is a child, and Gloria will soon be a teen. It's a... slightly hectic household. Good thing Gavin is an Ecological Guru with only one day's work each week, and enough vacation days to get him out of that - but he certainly doesn't have time for the business, working on his warlock skills, or looking for that Oceanography career he really wants. I think Stacy wants to get her own place and marry Rich - we'll see. (Oh, and there are four dogs in the household as well, and I think one of them is expecting puppies.)
At the Lands, Beulah has passed away, and Homer is due this round, which is why I'm dreading going back into the 'hood. They're already all crying, and losing Homer too... Yeah. Anyway - Scot still works as a manager at the Fish Market, Virginia is a Visionary who spends a lot of time at the piano and really wants to go on vacation, Arabelle and Heath are closing in on teenhood, and little Moore Land is about to start school. The twins both have music and dance as their OTH, but while Heath has maxed both his enthusiasm and his creativity, Arabelle has other interests as well, like science and nature. Moore has spent most of his toddlerhood with the logic toy. Homer gardens and cares for the dogs and plays with his grandchildren and talks to the rest of his family on the phone. (He's still a detective, but he's been using a lot of vacation days.) Two of the dogs are puppies, named Crash and Crown.
At the Gavigans, Nathan wants to spend all his time working and skilling, which means there's not much opportunity for those dream dates to fulfill Mary's LTW. So Mary fills up her time in other ways - she has recently decided she wants to be a cop, so she's now a patrol officer. There's also the garden and the dogs and the kids and her new hobby of arranging flowers. (I think she's not yet up to 20 dream dates, and one or two of those may have been with Junior.) Isaiah is the Chief of Police, which makes him his mom's boss, and it's all a little awkward. The baby Sharla was carrying turned out to be his, and he was given full custody on the condition that he allow her parents to see little Samuel whenever they want. He looks just like Isaiah, but has a very different personality - 1 outgoing, 10 active, 8 nice. Leah is a pleasure teen, with bolts for both Anand Ramaswami and Dexter Rose. She wants to be a cop just like her mother and big brother. The youngest, Dinah, recently became a child.
Next door are the Jayapalan's, Ginger, her husband Douglas, and their three kids. They both have simultaneous wants and fears for another child. Geoffrey and Genevieve are both very outgoing and payful children with a good amount of friends, but they also both know they're expected to help with the enormous vegetable garden in the backyard. Giles is still a toddler, but not for much longer. Ginger has reached permaplat by becoming a Celebrity Chef. Douglas works in education, but I'm tempted to have him quit and start a business selling fresh fish and veggies. (They also have a pond, and a lot of chickens.)
At the Roses, Cyd is an elder and Penny is almost one. (That's freaking me out a bit, and I'm so tempted to have someone influence her BFF the Contessa into biting her. Penny herself is more interested in becoming a werewolf - but there's no reason why she couldn't be both, right? An alien werewitchpire? She'd be awesome at it.) They're both permaplat, the kids are pretty self-sufficient, so they spend a lot of time working on their witchcraft. (Cyd is neutral, Penny evil.) Dexter, the only kid that's biologically both of theirs, is halfway to college age. He used to have a thing with Leah Gavigan, but has recently developed a crush on Frida McMillan, the oldest Ottomas grandkid, who's a bit younger than him. He's also decided he likes grilled cheese so much it's going to be his primary aspiration instead of secondary. Zachary (Penny's alien abduction kid) is almost a teen, and Cyd's alien triplets are not far behind. Alba is the sporty one (10 active, 0 nice, 0 outgoing), China the one who reminds me of Skye despite not being genetically related to him (10 neat, active and nice, 0 outgoing, 2 playful), and Gallica is the lazy friendly nature-lover (10 outgoing, playful and nice, 0 active).
Woody lives alone, some would say, but he doesn't feel lonely at all. There's the Serva he built and his father initiated, Metallica. (She keeps wanting to flirt with Woody, but that's just too creepy for me to allow - she has his father's exact personality!) There are no less than six dogs, three of which are puppies. He gardens, builds robots, stargazes, and dates a lot. He's up to 15 out of the 20 woohoos he wants. He doesn't have a job, but has no problem living off date gifts, discoveries of new stars, and dog jobs. He has been abducted, but not impregnated. What more could he possibly want out of life? (His niece Thyme may well move in with him after she finishes college, and possibly bring a boyfriend with her - we'll see how Woody and Metallica react to that.)
Downtown, we have the McMillans first - David Ottomas and his wife Prof. Linda. (I'm actually not sure they've ever gotten married - I'll have to check.) He just made Icon and reach permaplat, she's still an Executive Chef. Their daughter Frida recently turned teen (family/knowledge, LTW Education Minister, crushing on Dexter Rose) and Dorian is almost there. He's friends with Gallica Rose and Vera Goode, so he may have a thing for half aliens.
Georgia Newson and Ti-Ning Wendland have just graduated and moved into a house, not played there yet.
River and Jasmine Thorne only recently got married, and already have two kids - his alien son Greene Land, and their daughter Petunia, named in honor of Beulah. (I wanted a nature name, it sort of sounds similar, and I can always claim it was Beulah's favorite flower.) Just like the McMillans, he's in Show Business and she's in Culinary - Leading Man and Restauranteur. They date a lot, and have a karaoke machine in their living room. They really need a bigger place, though; their tiny house doesn't really have room for one kid, much less two. And there might be more. And there's a dog. (Of course there is.)
Delta and Gallagher live across the street from her brother. She's an actress (I love that this 'hood has David Ottomas as an Icon, River as a Leading Man, and Delta as a Supporting Player) and Gallagher wants to break into acting, too, now that's he's fulfilled his LTW of Professional Party Guest. They're both pleasure seekers, so naturally the car is parked outside while the garage contains a bubble blower and a karaoke machine. They have a baby on the way, and a dog that Woody sold them.
Next door to the downtown Lands are Rhett and his fiancée Brenda Leong. They're not in a very good place right now - she caught him with Sharla Ottomas, and is furious, especially because his defense was "But you were too tired from the pregnancy to woohoo!" Rhett has turn-ons for blonde hair and unemployment (explains Sandy, doesn't it?) which Sharla meets and Brenda used to meet, until she found a job in her dream career. Then she suddenly had much less time for him because she was working or skilling for promotions. (The fact that Rhett himself has already reached the top of his dream career is completely irrelevant. He didn't neglect her! ...because they weren't together at the time.) We'll see if they can get past this, or if she ends up kicking him out. Will Rhett ever actually live in the same house as one of his kids?
Theresa Platz, the downtownie I made playable because of her affair with Ginger's husband Douglas, is not in very good shape right now. She's pregnant with Rich Mann's kid, and her needs keep dropping really fast, and she was struggling to take care of both herself and her toddler Max Joseph (fathered by Douglas). Max is now a child, which helps, but she's still constantly starving and exhausted. And this woman wants to marry off six kids? She really needs some help if she's going to survive that. (There are some possibilities, but she's not sure what she wants, and I'm not sure what I want for her.)
After Sharla gave birth to her son and handed him over to his father to raise, she moved into a place of her own downtown. She really enjoys to change from the crowded Ottomas home, but if this gets too quiet she can always invite her sister and fellow romance sim Nadia to share the house (and the men) with her. Her current lovers are Rhett, Rich, Woody, and a couple of townies. She wants 20 - we'll see if she ever gets there. She brought one of the family dogs with her, appropriately named Samson. (I hadn't put that together when she gave up Samuel and took this particular dog...) She and Isaiah still have three bolts, so maybe she'll go for him to be one of the 20, although I can't imagine he'd be very happy with that situation, family sim that he is.
And that just leaves college, where I hhave the four Hartlets, the Ottomas triplets, and Sadie Wilkie. Sadie and Promise Land are in love, and Sadie has a want to get engaged to Promise in her wants panel. (Along with a want to flirt with Georgia, due to her romance secondary, but Georgia's straight anyway.) Sadie, who wants 6 grandkids, is studying History along with Hampton Beech, and Promise is in Economics like Thyme. Rooming with the two of them is Lona Lee Hart, a nice witch who's impatiently waiting for Connor Ottomas to come to college. Lona Lee is studying Physics, which is an interesting choice for someone who wants to be a Ballet Dancer, but it never hurts to have varied interests and more than one career path open. Maybe she wants to figure out how witchcraft works with the laws of Physics?
Also a witch, but en evil one, is Thyme Weiss. She's dating Aidan Ottomas, just like her (unknown) half brother Hampton is dating Aidan's triplet sister Diana. Normally I'm not a fan of closer relatives matching up with close relatives, but since Thyme and Hampton don't look anything alike except for coloring I'm okay with this one. Aidan and Diana are both studying Biology; Aidan wants to be an oceanographer, Diana a teacher, Thyme a dancer like her cousin Lona Lee. Hampton just wants a long and happy marriage. Also in that house is Nadia, the third triplet. She hasn't picked a major yet, as she's not really in college for the education - it's all about the boys for her. She wants 20 lovers just like her sister Sharla. (She managed a quick hook-up with Hampton when he and Diana were doing the "we've been together since we turned teen, let's take a few days apart to make sure we still want to spend the rest of our lives together" thing after just arriving in colllege. Diana was not pleased.)
Because I'm dreading going into that Widespot, I'm playing around in another one - Veronaville with an attached Widespot RFD and Sim State. I'm going less by sim wants there, more by a plot that's developing in my head, but I'll save that story for later because I'm all typed out now.

So. This new neighborhood combo I mentioned in my previous post, Veronaville/Widespot/Sim State.
And that's where the 'hood is currently sitting, after four played one-day rounds.
When the highway reached Widespot, Rich Mann wasn't happy, because its isolation was the main reason he'd chosen it. But moving again would look like he was running away, and in his position he couldn't afford the loss of face that would mean, so he decided to make the most of it. He took a look at the nearest town the highway connected them to, Veronaville, and decided to look for an alliance with one of the feuding families there. The Capps initially looked interesting due to the white collar association - business, law, politics, all very useful - but when he realized they were firmly matriarchal, well, that was just absurd. Thankfully the Montys understood that men are meant to be in charge, and women should do as they're told. An added bonus was that there was a marriageble daughter about the same age as Junior, an excellent way to cement the alliance. (Candy is just not the kind of girl a man marries, as Rich knows from personal experience, and while Mary seems biddable enough, she's also very close to her father the cop.) Junior and Bianca were introduced to each other, obediently flirted a bit, and were even lucky enough to find they rather liked each other. (Not that the opposite would've been allowed to stand in Rich and Patrizio's way.) Bianca and Junior are now married, and she's pregnant.
Back home, Lana had opened up their lavish garden to the public - for a small fee, of course. Rich was not pleased at first, but she pointed out that it was an excellent way to divert any suspicions, because nobody who was up to anything shady would do such a thing. And once the grandkids started arriving, they could close it down with a ready-made excuse of "for the children." (She wants to earn 100,000, and is hardly going to get a job.) Junior rolled a want to get a job, I checked the computer, and there was Criminal just waiting for him, so that was clearly meant to be. Someone bought a dog at the pet shop (owned by Goneril Capp). His name is Felix, and when I saw his personality - friendly, cowardly doofus - my first thought was "Hey, it's the dog version of Junior!" Lana dotes on the dog, Rich scolds him and wants to train him, and Junior doesn't care for him at all.
Patrizio has his own heir problems. His perfect son Claudio is dead. (Damn those Capps! He knows they were the ones behind it!) His oldest grandson Mercutio is a big disappointment; he doesn't care about the Family, and is so head over heels for some girl he met at college that he's talking about moving in with her family and taking her name - if she'll have him! The boy has no spine, no self-respect! Romeo only cares about girls and music. Antonio has some good ideas now and then, like starting a construction company as a front now that the family restaurant is no more. (LTW City Planner.) But how can you put everything in the hands of someone who had to be forcibly pushed into marriage, only produced one set of twins, doesn't seem to mourn his wife very much, and is now quite openly dating a man? An old man at that, with no possible value to the Family, one who only cares about telescopes and speaks proudly of having been abducted by aliens. But this only leaves Benedict, still a child, and who knows what flaws he will turn out to have when he gets older? Will Patrizio even live long enough to see him grow up? (Rich is of course hoping it will end with his grandson, once he has one, ending up with Patrizio's criminal epire as well as his own.)
Skye Weiss has fallen in love. Antonio understands him, understands the importance of knowledge and science, understands that sometimes you just lose yourself in the fascinating worlds that open up to you when you learn new things. He's a single father, just like Skye, and has never been involved with another man before either. He even spends big chunks of his night stargazing! Skye is head over heels, and part of him longs to make a stronger commitment to Antonio, to live with him all the time, but there's just no way he can leave Penny. With Woody about to go off to college, Penny cannot be abandoned to raise two children alone!
Penny wants to see more alien genetics spread across the world. She struck a deal with Albany Capp, a man who wants more children but whose wife absolutely refuses to get pregnant again, saying four is more than enough. Penny would give him a child, and let him spend time with it whenever he wanted, and in return he promised to spend his nights looking to be abducted and impregnated himself, and if he succeeded, Penny would be allowed to be part of that child's life. After Penny gave birth to her first child, Paige, she almost immediately got pregnant by Albany. (The fact that they're also in love isn't something Penny considers a factor.) With one toddler and pregnant again, Woody getting close to college age, and her father obviously worried about her, Penny invited a recent college graduate, Castor Nova, to come live with them. He'll help out with the kids, and since he too likes stargazing, there's always the possibility of another little half alien in the house. (I haven't quite decided what to do with Castor, so we'll see how long he stays, but this seems like a better way station that having him in a house all by himself while Penny struggles.) Penny is in Architecture, and Castor wants to go into Natural Science, so they'll need to juggle schedules a bit.
Albany and Goneril are no longer in love, but are staying married for the children. Quite literally so, since in the Capp family custody would automatically go to Goneril, and Albany won't leave them. Miranda as the oldest is the heiress, even though as a romance sim she has no interest in carrying on the family name. (LTW 20 lovers, currently dating Woody but it's an understanding between romance sims that they're not exclusive.) Hal is a potential asset in making marriage alliances with other families, as far as Goneril's concerned - oh, and now that he's a teen he can help run the businesses. (He's popularity/pleasure, wants to be Cult Leader. I don't think he's happy with being a second-tier child just because he was born a boy...) Desdemona is the spare, in case Miranda doesn't have any kids, and little Ariel was an oops baby. (To Goneril - Albany may have tampered with the birth control, since he wants to marry off six kids and she wants five top businesses.) They have a pet store, a baby stuff store, and a park/playground. I'm looking to run the nursery store up to top level first, so Goneril can give it to Albany as his dowry and he can take it with him if he ever leaves. He does have serious feelings for Penny, and Goneril likes to flirt with other men when uncontrollable, like Oberon Gossamer or Valentine Hart.
Daytona would like an alliance with the Capp family, to counter the Mann/Monty alliance. She hoped to push Virginia and Tybalt together, but that didn't work out as she hoped (Virginia has a turn-off for fullface make-up, and Tybalt isn't removing his) so now she's hoping to match Rocky up with one of the Capp girls. Juliette would be ideal, of course, but there is quite an age difference there, so she's also eyeing Goneril's girls. Rocky grew up into a family sim, with a pleasure secondary, and hadn't show a LTW yet when I left the Beech house last round. He did manage to sneak his first kiss from Penny while they were both uncontrollable - I imagine she's always in favor of experimenting - so he'd probably resent the idea of being made to wait for Desdemona to grow up, much less Ariel. He has a dog named Andy who Sandy gave him before...
Hamilton caught Sandy flirting with Rhett, and promptly kicked her out. Virginia was already at uni by then, so not having witnessed it, she's surprisingly accepting of the whole situation - even Hamilton's new romance with her sorority sister, Brittany. It may have something to do with the fact that her own love life hasn't exactly been without complications. When Brittany graduated, she moved in with the Beeches, on the condition that Hamilton take the Upsnott name when they married. She wants to be Captain Hero after Homer.
When Hamilton kicked her out, Sandy went to Rhett for a place to stay. She also took back her maiden name, Rhodes. Valentine, who has a family secondary and wants six grandkids, was happy that two of the three so far would be living with him. Candy had a daughter named Yeong Hart, and Sandy's daughter is named Dusty Rhodes. Both have the Hart nose and mouth, and possibly eye-shape, but pretty much everything else from their other parent. Nobody in this house works - Rhett is the only one with a career LTW, and he hasn't found an opening in journalism yet. Sandy and Rhett share a room and woohoo regularly, but neither seems interested in more than that. Candy has a pleasure secondary, and her LTW is 50 dream dates, most of which she's getting from Ashley Pitts. (Rich and Junior are happy to woohoo with her, but if she tries to ask them on a date they refuse due to being married. Woody's attractive but still a teen. There is that attractive boy Romeo, though, and since he just went to college she no longer considers him too young.)
Valentine is no longer involved with Mary - Candy (or Rhett, who knows it's better to just do what Candy tells him to) influenced Goneril Capp to flirt with him in front of Mary, and he was happy to accept. Mary was less happy about it, even more so since she'd recently been a witness to Junior proposing to Bianca. (When Junior told her his father didn't approve of them being together, she thought he meant they'd have to wait a while so he could talk Rich around. Junior, of course, never realized she expected him to go against his father, and had meant they could only have an thing on the side while he married as ordered.) Instead he has flings with Goneril and with Heather Huffington, and spends much of his time doting on his granddaughters.
Mary, her heart broken by both Junior and Valentine, found herself appreciating the support she was getting from an unexpected source - Consort Capp. He spent most of his life being a supporting husband to his first wife, and cannot understand how anyone could treat a woman like that. There's boltage there, and Mary has no hang-ups about age, so soon they were dating and talking marriage. As soon as he could arrange for his grandchildren to be taken care of, he moved in with the Lands, and the only reason they're not married yet is because Mary went straight from giving birth to her daughter Palatine to getting pregnant by Consort. (Palatine looks just like Mary except for the chin/jaw. She's adorable.) Homer is working his way towards Captain Hero, Beulah wants six grandkids, Scot is dating Hermia, River just turned teen (rom/fort, 5 top businesses - why does he do that to me?). Between River, Delta and Rocky Beech, they've made friends with all the kids in Veronaville, and invited them over enough that the Veronaville kids are now all friends with each other as well, across the Capp/Monty divide.
At Capp Manor, Consort asked Kent to come live with the teens so he could move out to start a new life with Mary. Tybalt and Juliette are both at uni - he has a year left, she just got there - and Hermia will go in a few years. Right now, she's happily going steady with Scot Land, not the least bit disturbed that her grandfather is about to marry his sister. I haven't quite decided where these two will live or which last name they'll take when they're adults - she's technically Juliette's heir until Juliette produces a daughter, but there's really not enough room in that house for as many kids as both Scot/Hermia and Juliette/whoever-she-ends-up-with will likely produce. The Land house would make more sense that way, plus it would keep all the Capp/Land kidlets together. Then again, I should probably rebuild the Manor anyway to make it more playable... Fortunately, I have some time before I need to decide.
Oberon and Titania are married, but really only because her LTW is Golden Anniversary - theirs is very definitely an open relationship. (I've turned off jealousy through ACR.) They're both involved with Kent Capp, and would like him to come live with them if he didn't have to essentially house-sit Capp Manor until Juliette graduates and returns home. Puck's girlfriend Tiffany Sampson has moved in with them, however, waiting for Puck to finish up college. So far I've seen no signs of Titania getting pregnant, so maybe that's (part of) the reason why they adopted. Or perhaps, with Puck at uni and Bottom about to turn teen, they don't think it's the best time to add a new baby.
Regan and Cornwall are trying to work on their careers - she's in business like her father, he's in law - but the birth of triplets is slowing them down. Regan "Ree" Capp named her children Andi Capp (heiress), Feodor Capp (possible future spouse of one of the Hartlet girls), and Neith Capp (sparess).
Ashley Pitts has a small house in Veronaville, where he's only lived for one round, and now he's just been joined by his fiancée Heather Huffington. (They're both family secondary, and when they fell in love they both rolled up engagement wants for each other, without the corresponding fears, so I obeyed.) They both want 20 woohoos, so we'll see how that works out. Just after moving in, Ashley rolled up a want to get a job in the Dance career, and when he checked the computer there was an opening in Dance, so he took it. He has no body points, and I won't make him gain any unless he rolls up wants for them, so he's on his own there.
Joshua Ruben and Kevin Beare have each built themselves a house in Widespot, where they're waiting for their respective fiancées (Dixie and Goldie) to join them after next round. Joshua wants 5 top businesses, and Dixie wants to earn 100,000, so that's what they'll be doing. Kevin wants six grandkids, and Goldie reached permaplat in uni after making 20 best friends, so they won't get jobs either unless they roll wants for them. The frat got a genie lamp in uni and wished for money to buy businesses; Kevin started the first one, a toy store - he'd rolled a want for a toy bench earlier and had some stock prepared - and ran it up to level nine, then gave it to Joshua. Joshua gained the last level, got the memory, and promptly gave the store back to Kevin, who after graduating used the cash perks to buy a nice big house. Joshua also started a fast food place while in uni, and while that's slower to gain levels, it's gotten far enough for him to use the cash perks for a house, and seed money for the next business he'll start.
(Goldie and Kevin was a completely unexpected match-up to me, but it really works. She just wants stability and love and for her children never to feel overlooked or ignored the way she did as a teen, and feels secure that Kevin will give them that. Kevin is happy that she won't spend all her time working, but stay home with him and the kids they'll have. And they have two bolts despite the aspirations, so... clearly it was meant to be.)
At college, Tybalt Capp is dating Allegra Gorey, whose turn-ons are for red hair and fullface make-up. After Heather Huffington romanced the Count and was turned into the least dangerous-looking vampire ever, she bit Allegra and the cured herself. (Allegra wanted to be bit, of course, while almost everyone else at the sorority wanted Heather to be cured.) I simply couldn't resist the appropriateness of it, and Allegra makes a much better vampire than Heather. She's only almost died once, despite having daytime classes. Tybalt wants to be Mayor, Allegra Hand of Poseidon.
Puck is engaged to Tiffany, who has graduated and moved in with his parents. He has been on academic probation once, so he's a little behind Tybalt and Mercutio; but on the other hand, he's permaplat from making 20 best friends. Mercutio is having a much harder time working on his 20 pet best friends, especially considering there are nowhere near 20 pets in the 'hood. They've recently pledged in Martin Ruben (gay, no boyfriend yet but fancies both Kent Capp and Antonio Monty, wants to be a Mad Scientist) and Romeo (Rock God, not looking for a commitment but is one of Heather's Boys).
Virginia had her first woohoo with Ashley Pitts, just to know what it was like (and he's kind of hot). Then she saw Heather invite Junior over for a woohoo, and that set off a lot of emotions in her. As a teen, she'd fantasized about Junior declaring his love for her, how the two of them would try to bring their warring families together, or sometimes about the two of them running off together. It was all very star-crossed lovers, very romantic. But then she went to college, and then she heard he got married. But if he was here with Heather, then clearly he wasn't happily married. He must've been forced into it by his awful father! Maybe, just maybe... She flirted with him a little (Heather wouldn't mind, she had a half dozen men), and they ended up in bed together. It... wasn't quite what she'd expected. For one thing, he wasn't at good at it as Ashley, but that wasn't the big deal, Ashley was a romance sim and had probably had a ton more practice. It was the way Junior just thanked her and left right after. He thanked her, like she'd performed some kind of service, and then he just left! To make things worse, when she went down for a bite to eat she heard Heather mention that Junior's wife was pregnant. That didn't match up with the unhappy forced marriage she'd been picturing in her mind. And then Goldie mentioned that Junior was the father of her sister's baby! Sure, she'd heard about Candy having a kid, but she'd thought it was Mr Mann's - she'd seen them together once. Junior and Candy? She went to Dixie to talk, but as soon as she mentioned Junior's name Dixie started ranting about how he'd broken Mary's heart. All in all, it's maybe not such a surprise that Virginia didn't have the energy to be upset about her parents' divorce. She even invited her mother over to have a talk about disappointments in love, about how reality compares to what you imagined, about infidelity and heartbreak... (Virginia is currently dating Mercutio Monty, but a little bit afraid to trust that it's real, that it's going to last. Instead she skills a lot, and wants to be a Cult Leader with a ton of devoted followers who love her. She'll teach them about the wonders of grilled cheese!)
Juliette just arrived at uni, and it bothers her that she doesn't have a boyfriend. She's never shown any interest in Romeo once the starting wants rolled away. She heartfarted Scot whenever they were in the same house, but he's Hermia's steady. She had a one-time date with Woody just before going off to college, which worked surprisingly well considering the clashing aspirations. She's flirted a bit with Jared Starchild (all the uni bin sims were made into dormies) but I feel like they're too similar to make an interesting match. I'm leaning more towards Woody. He could re-roll after sophomore year - or Juliette could - or they could stay as-is. And the possibility of the next Capp heiress having green skin... Or I could please Daytona by hooking up Juliette and Rocky. Or there's Castor Nova, although they don't seem particularly interested in each other. Time will tell.

And that's where the 'hood is currently sitting, after four played one-day rounds.

This is pretty much gold from beginning to end but ROFLMAO at the dog version of Junior!

My obsession to add a beachlot in every hood.. lowered the terrain enough to fit 2 Widespot Marina and Widespot Marketplace, what sells fruits, veggies and fish, owned by now an elder Rocky Beech (I forgot to put the pic of Rocky in my dropbox, so I'll add it when home)

More on my Veronaville/Widespot:
Rambling character thoughts:
Yeah, that's my mental view of the Widespotties. Anyone else have a different one?
Capps: Kent is working on his career while teen-sitting Hermia, who is almost ready for college. In two more rounds Juliette will return home, at which point Kent will be free to move out if he wants to. (Oberon and Titania would be happy to have him move in with them.) Cornwall and Ree Capp have been busy with the triplets, who are now toddlers; they look very much alike, the girls even growing up into the same hairstyle (which didn't fit them at all), but their personality points have fairly different spreads. Albany and Goneril are still living together, but he's still involved with Penny while she occasionally dates Valentine, Oberon, or the evil warlock. They're on their fourth business, none of which have reached top level yet. Miranda has just gone off to college, but Desdemona will turn teen next round so Goneril still expects to have two teen helpers. Hal is clearly not enthralled with the idea of spending his whole teen years working on his mother's businesses. He rolled a want to sneak out with Rocky, got caught by Albany (who was stargazing on the back porch but somehow still saw Hal sneaking out the front door), still got in the car and drove off, but his thumbnail didn't get the "sneaking out" mark and he didn't return home. I'm debating how to play this out - do I just teleport him back? (Force errors will do it, I tested it then but exited without saving.) Do I play it as if he's run away? (His needs were still going down, so that might end badly for him.) Do I teleport him into the Beech lot and have Daytona deal with the potential fall-out as it affects her fledgling alliance with Goneril? One possibility is to have Daytona play peace-maker and wise matriarch, perhaps suggesting Goneril let Hal go live with his grandfather at the Lands for a bit, see if diaper duty will make him see businesses in a more favorable light. But in the meantime Goneril would be down a helper at her businesses, so an exchange of fosterlings perhaps? River would make the most sense here, since he's the one who also wants Five Top Businesses and would benefit from the training (also, I'm considering a match between him and Miranda), but surely Daytona would push for it to be Rocky? Hmmm. Both of them?
Summerdreams: Tiffany is fitting in fairly well, or at least without friction, although she's not really spending much time with her in-laws-to-be. Mostly she's skilling or dating Puck when he comes home for a visit. But he's graduated and moved back home now, so that should change the dynamic somewhat. Bottom grew up into a teen, and she's a lesbian romance/pleasure sim who wants 50 Dream Dates and hasn't found anyone to date yet, so her aspiration rarely gets out of the green. There aren't that many teen girls in the 'hood, and all of them are straight except Sadie Wilkie, bi, who has negative boltage with Bottom. She may have to wait until college, which isn't going to be much fun for her.
Montys: Mercutio is home from college, but doesn't seem inclined to get a job, which annoys Patrizio. Antonio stargazes, skills for work, and occasionally calls Skye over for a date. Isabella gardens and studies various FT skills. Benedick and Beatrice just hit teen; they both rolled family/pleasure, and both want Golden Anniversaries. Methinks they were struck deep by the loss of their mother, and are perhaps also aware that it wasn't a love match between her and their father. Benedick is the most obvious heir to the Family, and he and Patrizio are already discussing who to marry Beatrice off to for a good alliance. (I'd made half-hearted plans for someone at uni, but then I checked her best matches in the crystal ball, and the evil warlock was at the very top of the list. How can I resist that, especially given that it would mean stealing him away from Goneril?)
Various new graduates: Tybalt and vampire!Allegra have moved into one of the Tudors in Veronaville - per Juliette's instructions, Kent sent them a sum of money as Tybalt's dowry - and she's found a job, while he's still looking. They haven't gotten married yet, but I'm pretty sure she's pregnant. At the Pitts/Huffington place, Heather is very pregnant, but doesn't let that stop her from working on those 20 Woohoos - she has more than 10 lovers, so now she just needs to get all of them as public woohoos as well, and she'll be set. Ashley has the same LTW but doesn't seem as driven to get there. Joshua and Dixie are also expecting an addition, as are Kevin and Goldie, which will mean adjustments to their respective wedding plans. Dixie rolled up a want to join the Slacker career, and there was an opening in that field, so she grabbed it. It kinda suits her, as jobs go, and will still leave her time to help Joshua with his businesses. Neither Kevin nor Goldie has wanted a job so far, so we'll see what they come up with to keep busy - maybe kids, parties and the toy store will be all they see the need for. (They did throw a party the very first day Goldie was back, at which Virginia tried to flirt with Junior and he rejected her, so she fell out of love with him, then she turned around and promptly fell in love with Woody. Oh, Virginia.)
Beech: Not much drama here, lots of working on careers. Virginia found an opening in Paranormal pretty much right away. Brittany is in Law Enforcement. Hamilton reached the same level as Daytona in Politics, which was her cue to retire - he was taking over her spot in Congress, I assume. Daytona has fulfilled her LTW of 20 BFs, with Rhett(!) as number 20. I'm debating whether they'll all stay in the house, and if not, who would get their own place - Virginia or Hamilton and Brittany? I mean, Virginia is the one who will carry on the Beech name, since Hamilton is now an Upsnott, but Brittany really likes the black-and-white theme, and Hamilton is Daytona's son, after all. Oh well, there's no urgency; neither of them is pregnant as far as I know, and Hamilton wouldn't move out until Rocky was off to college, anyway.
Hart: Rhett and Val are doting on the toddlers, Sandy is making friends, Candy is dating. Aaand she got pregnant again, this time by Romeo Monty. She keeps rolling wants for him more than any other lover, so if that continues I'll probably have him move in with them after uni and help raise his kid. Valentine, who wants 6 grandkids, is thrilled that he has at least two more on the way. Rhett keeps rolling wants for Penny more than Sandy, but most of all he rolls generic woohoo wants.
Mann: Bianca gave birth to a son, who was (of course) named Richard III. She dutifully handed him over to his grandfather, went upstairs to woohoo her husband again, and then just a couple of hours later was abducted by aliens. She's pregnant again, and I'm not entirely sure whether it's Junior's or a little half alien. She wants to marry off six kids, so either way there will be more.
Land: Mary is much less even-keeled in this incarnation than in my main Widespot. She and Consort are married, and seem happy together; but while uncontrollable on community lots, as I was playing other households, she first caught Valentine "cheating" with Goneril again - she had apparently only fallen out of crush with him before, not out of love - and went slap-happy on them. Then she caught Junior woohooing Heather, and that tipped her over into full aspiration failure, complete with shrink visit and flour-sack baby. Back home, giving birth got her back to platinum, but I think I'll have to keep an eye on her. (She's at enemy-level with Valentine, Junior, Goneril, and Bianca, and furious with Heather. The only reason she isn't actually enemies with them is that they don't feel the same way towards her.) To get her closer to that Marry off 6 Kids LTW, I had her make cheesecake (which Penny also helped herself to a plate of) so she had twins, Leigh Land and Noah Mance Land. In other news, Scot has gone off to college, Homer adopted a wolf and then someone bought a dog at Goneril's pet store, River managed to date Miranda once or twice before she went off to college, Delta is almost a teen.
Weiss: Penny and Mary seem to follow the same pattern when it comes to kids - first a daughter by a Hart, then boy/girl twins by a Capp spouse. Penny's kids were named Uther Weiss and Elsa Weiss. Elsa Weiss has green skin, red hair, and green eyes, so I'm leaning towards her as heir to the house at this point... but of course many things could change before it's time for that decision. Castor is good with the kids, and enjoys stargazing, but is getting a little frustrated he hasn't found an opening in Natural Science yet. (It's been all of two sim days since he graduated, but...) Skye has been using hobby lots to skill, since that seems the only way he'll be able to get those maxed skills in the little time he has left, and still be able to spend some time with his family. Castor was the one who first brought him to one, and while Skye was skilling Castor romanced the hobby leader, Asia. We'll see if it goes anywhere or if it's just a fling.
Sim State: The sorority currently consists of Jane Stacks and Juliette Capp, so it's been kind of quiet, but Miranda is about to join, which should liven things up a bit. Jane, another lesbian who had a hard time meeting the right girl, is now involved with another hobby leader, Tina Young (Science), and I'm starting to ship it. They're consistently adorable when uncontrollable. Juliette seems set on Woody, despite the lack of chemistry, and I've almost made up my mind to re-roll him; I pre-rolled what he'd get, and it ended up knowledge/pleasure, which seems like an excellent fit for him. The fraternity has just lost Puck to graduation, and currently holds Martin Ruben (senior), Romeo Monty (junior), Woody Weiss (sophomore), and is about to add Scot Land (freshman).
So, the 'hood keeps growing. Current youngest generation stands at seven toddlers (four Hartlets, Capp triplets), five babies (Richard III, Land twins, Weiss twins), and six pregnant women (Heather, Candy, Bianca, Allegra, Dixie, Goldie). Let's hope some of those pregnancies result in boys, because I currently have twice as many girls as boys in this crowd.

Rambling character thoughts:
So, I stumbled over a discussion somewhere over what sport Valentine used to play, and when someone mentioned basketball, my immediate reaction was "But he's not tall enough!" Which led to the realization that he has an actual height in my mind. (Far from all sims do, since they don't in-game.) So I gave some more thought to how I see the physical build of the Widespotties - I even translated it to feet and inches for you Americans - and of course some psychology snuck in there along with it.
Valentine is about 5'7 or 5'8, I'd say, compact build, all muscle - but would easily go to fat if he stopped working out. Candy is short and curvy, about 5'2, only a step away from chubby. Rhett is about half an inch shorter than his father, and resents it immensely - he'll wear heeled boots or lifts if his outfit will allow it. He's also always been attracted to tall women - Sandy and Penny are both taller than him, especially Penny. (It's the alien heritage.) Goldie is almost as tall as her father, and perhaps a hair taller than Rhett, which he's also not happy about. She's less compact than the rest of them, more slender with a touch of wiry.
Sandy's pretty tall, as mentioned, about 5'8. Daytona is of average height but her sheer presence makes her seem taller. Hamilton is the opposite of his mother - he's really tall, at least 6'6, and broad-shouldered to go with it, the kind of guy everybody looks twice at just due to his size, but he's perfected the art of blending into the background, and by the third or fourth time they meet him people have pretty much stopped noticing him. Part of the reason he ended up with Sandy is that she's one of the few who kept seeing him and paying attention to him. (There's a major difference between them here which plays a big part in the break-down of their marriage - Hamilton shies away from attention, needs privacy, and doesn't really get that Sandy isn't like that. To him, coming home from work and taking the kids off her hands for the evening is a way to offer her some time alone after she's had to take care of the kids all day - to her, it just means she feels even more isolated and ignored.) Rocky is also tall when he reaches adulthood, though not quite as big as his father. Virginia is tall (5'10-ish) and curvy - people frequently describe her in terms like amazon, statuesque, etc.
Skye's height is hard to determine, because he tends to stoop a bit, but he's definitely on the thin side - if he's not cooking for the kids, he forgets to eat. Penny and Woody are both really tall and thin due to their alien genes; Penny's 6'2-ish, Woody maybe 6'4 or 6'5. (The alien race they come from doesn't have a height difference between the sexes, which means in comparison to non-alien sims Penny's height stands out more.) At the start of the 'hood, Woody has recently had a growth spurt and is at that coltish stage where he doesn't really know what his arms and legs are doing.
Homer is about 5'7, with a bit more strength behind that beer belly than is obvious, and Beulah is 5'2-5'3 and all soft curves (but strong arms and back due to a lifetime of heavy lifting). I'd put Mary at 5'5, strong and sturdy like her father, Delta maybe an inch taller than her mother when she's fully grown, and Dixie barely tops five feet. River is the tallest, 5'9 or so, and gangly with it, while Scot is about his father's height and more on the sturdy side.
Rich will tell you he's six feet tall, and you'd better not question it. Junior actually is six feet tall, and wouldn't dream of pointing out he's taller than his father. Lana is almost as tall as her husband when she's wearing her highest heels, which is one reason why she rarely does. (The other is that her knees don't like them much anymore.) Junior, like the Harts, has the kind of build that could go either way - really built if he's physically active, going to fat if he isn't. Rich is far too intense to ever gain weight - he rarely sits still, even on his days off. He didn't get to where he is by lazing around, Junior!
Yeah, that's my mental view of the Widespotties. Anyone else have a different one?

Random question: Peni, what were Beulah, Lana, Angel and Sandy's maiden names?

I hadn't picked one. There aren't any other puns that go with it, so anything that sounded good to you would do.
The fact that Beulah means "married" might take you somewhere, I suppose.

How about Beulah Bays, Angel Falls, and Lana Cane? Someone already came up with Shores for Sandy.

I recently started playing again, and it's full of drama. I post the details on my tumblr as anaticula-ana, but here's a quick rundown of round one.
Beech: Sandy found out she was pregnant and while buying a pregnancy test ran into Beulah. Panicking she claimed the test was for Virginia. Not realizing the Virginia was dating her son Scot, Beulah spread the rumor around town that Virginia is expecting. Quite a shock for her when she found out Virginia is dating Scot. Sandy has been avoiding Rhett. She only slept with him because she felt Hamilton wasn't paying enough attention tot he family, while Rhett constantly flattered her. Eventually she gave in to him. She has not told anyone she is expecting because Hamilton had a vasectomy shortly after Rocky was born, so that whole town will know she cheated. Daytona believes that Virginia is expecting and is ignoring her. Hamilton is oblivious to everything. Virginia told him she's never woohooed with anyone so he believes her. Virginia recently told her mom that she knows about the baby.
Hart: Rhett doesn't realize Sandy is expecting. He's focused on his music career. Which means he has a guitar, occasionally practices, and posts online about how he is an awesome rock star. Val has figured out Mary is expecting and has promised to marry her. She'll be moving in with him soon and there will be a wedding. He would rather be single, but he grew up in a time where when you got a woman pregnant you did the RIGHT THING, which means marry her if you or single or pay her off not to tell your wife if you are married. Candy has informed Junior that they are getting married and moving downtown without telling his mother. If he disagrees she will make his life hell. Goldie is trying to get her dad's attention.
Mann: Rich is still working and has no intention of retiring any time soon. He is putting pressure on Junior to have a son for him to hand the empire over too as Junior has decided to pursue a career in media as opposed to being a criminal. Lana is raising attack dogs. She has two doberman pups she's training and will be selling their security services soon. Junior does all the local media and he doesn't do it well at all. But he is trying. He's half in love with Mary and scared of Candy, but he's not sure if he can choose her over his mom. He was going to propose to Mary on Lana's orders, but she and Val got engaged first.
Land: Homer and Beulah own the local general store. They also both have jobs, which means Mary has been running the store. The don't know who they will put in charge now that she's leaving to get married and have a baby. Should they call Dixie home from college or can they have Scot run it after school. Or should one of them quit work to focus on the store. Mary took maters into her own hands and proposed to Val when Candy suggested it. She doesn't like Candy, but is glad she convinced her to tell Val about the pregnancy. Dixie is loving college, and is having a blast. Scot is working up the courage to kiss Virginia (I can't remember if he was originally supposed to be dating Virginia or Goldie and set him up with Virginia in my head, so now he better ask her out on a date). River and Delta are pestering their parents for a pet.
Weiss: Penny adopted Danny and Sarah Critter and the family is training them. She wants to work for SCIA, but is waiting for her background check to go through, which takes a few months. Most likely it'll be after she has the babies before she can get in. Skye plans to retire to look after the babies as he doesn't trust Rhett at all and refuses to allow him on the property. Woody alternates between playing with the dogs and daydreaming about dating girls. So far he has failed at every romantic interaction.

In order to get through this most traumatic election, I've put your Widespot into my game.
The itinerant madness ought to distract me while I'm recovering from the shock.
But I'll be darned if I can come up with some suitable names for the babies...

Fortunately, lots of people have already named them.
Also fortunately, pun names are by no means required, though people seem to really get into doing it.

Unfortunately, I discovered Widespot was causing a conflict with the Uberhood Marka made me. I think the problem is the Uberhood took the place of the original Veronaville, and was named n003. Widespot was n1003. This wasn't the first hood with which it conflicted. So, I had to remove it. I'm sorry. It was a fun little hood, and I loved the story line you wrote.

What?
Widespot is named PGWS. How on earth did it get N1003? That's not even the standard protocol - it's five characters, not four.

The Widespot kids are pretty fun in Uni. I usually rush through it because it lasts so long compared to my other houses, but they add lots of good stuff to it. Names can be tricky I think last time I had: Atlantic and Pacific Beech, Nickle and Dime as Penny's kids. Valli, Lovie, Dovie, and Richard III for the Mann/Land/Hart children (Mary married Junior in that version and they raised a ton of kids together, might have had more than these four, but that's all I remember right off.) I know that Dixie had a kid or two, but I cannot remember what I named her. Maybe Daisy? I have to come up with new names for this round as I don't want to use the same ones.

I don't have a clue; I wish I did know. I was kind of established in Widespot. All I know is that once before I tried to restore a hood (still trying after my horrible introduction to all the ways windows 10 tries to destroy the game), and Widespot went away. I downloaded a fresh version and put it in and lost Belladonna Cove which I still haven't found because I don't know it's number.
When I put in the uberhood, it didn't show up. So I downloaded a fresh version, and took a look at the numerical identifiers to be sure there was not a duplicate anywhere. I noted the N1003 and the PGWS, but didn't think they could be the problem. Nevertheless I took out the numerical one, left in the PGWS, and still no uberhood. It was only after removing the PGWS that my hood finally showed up.
So there's a conflict, and I'm heartbroken about it. But since it's something to do with the two custom hoods, I doubt it will show up again for anyone else.

Ugh, that's weird. What happens if you attach a Widespot RFD subhood? (Obviously use a test hood for this, back up first, etc., if you decide to spend more time figuring this out.)
I wonder if it would help to change the UID in SimPE before starting to play it?
This may be a Windows 10 problem, in which case there's no way for me to research solutions. But something about Widespot must be creating a vulnerability to whatever stupidity Windows 10 is pulling on it. Does this happen with other player-made hoods? Do we need to add a step to the process?
If you or anybody else out there can look into this, it would be a public service.

Oh, it's a windows 10 problem, for sure. It has played havoc with all my hoods. Most were just absolutely gone when my son finally got it working, including most of of the defaults. I tried to remove all of them and have the game generate new ones, but got a hood with absolutely no hoods at all. Since then, I have gotten a few of them working and Widespot was one.

Try removing SecuROM. Leefish has a thread about it, which like an idiot I didn't bookmark, but apparently a lot of Windows 10 problems are directly a result of SecuROM, and I think it had something to do with neighborhoods borking up.

Windows 10 dropped its support for SecuROM. It's a good thing in the long-run (SecuROM embeds itself so deep in the system it opens a lot of back-doors for viruses and the like) - not so good when you want to play games.

My Veronaville/Widespot threw me a curve ball when Miranda Capp tried to fix the sorority trash compactor and got electrocuted to death. Her BFF and cousin Juliette tried to pleade with the Grim Reaper, but lost. So now I have to figure out what to do about this... Miranda was Goneril's heir - which she didn't want to be, lovely potential cause of conflict - she was one of the six kids Albany wants to marry off, and I had tentatively planned on hooking her up with River (rom/fort), who wants five top businesses just like Goneril and could be the one to take over hers. Now... well. This leaves Desdemona as the heiress, which is a much less dramatic situation, since she gets along well with Goneril and has a suitable prospective husband lined up in Rocky.
But... Hal, who resents Goneril as much as Miranda did, but was friends with his sister, has Paranormal as his LTW career. There's no way he wouldn't resurrect Miranda, at least I can't think of a reason. (Perhaps this would even be the reason why he picks that career?) So I could go with that not happening until Desdemona is established as heir, and play out a conflict over that. Except Miranda didn't want to be heiress, and Goneril was only trying to force her into it because she was the Eldest Daughter and that's how it goes in the Capp family, so who would the drama come from? Desdemona? Alternatively, I could have Hal resurrect her in secret, not telling anybody (except maybe Albany, if he's left Goneril by then), and then play out a story of how death has changed Miranda. (Aspiration change, at a minimum, possibly doing the "not paying enough" resurrection so her personality is reversed.) She could change her face and her last name, live in Widespot where she wouldn't run into so many Capps... although inevitably someone would find out eventually, and then it becomes a question of whether they can be convinced to keep the secret.
In other news, I have something like eight or ten pregnancies, some of which are due Any Second Now (Heather/Ashley, Candy/Romeo, Bianca and either Junior or a pollinator), some halfway through (Dixie/Joshua, Goldie/Kevin, Allegra/Tybalt) and some very new (Mary/Consort again, Tiffany/Puck, Virginia and either Woody or Junior, possibly Brittany/Hamilton). Richard III just became a toddler and looks exactly like Junior, except with Bianca's brown hair, and possibly rounder cheeks, although that may just be the toddler stage. The Hartlet girls have just had their child birthdays and are getting ready for their first day of school. Desdemona (kn/pl) and Delta (pop/fam) are newly minted teens. Jane Stacks and Martin Ruben have graduated and are setting up house together, along with Jane's fiancèe Tina Young, the Science hobby leader. (Martin's going to be their sperm donor, but they'll probably also adopt a child or two; maybe they'll get a boy to balance out the all-girl-ness of the Hartlets.)
Kevin and Goldie threw a wedding party, inviting their Greek brothers and sisters as well as Goldie's family. A good time was had by all, and nobody commented on Goldie's maternity wear. (Well, she wasn't the only one wearing that!) Homer walked by halfway through in his uniform, just checking in. Dixie and Joshua, however, didn't get around to a wedding this time around, because she spent all of the energy she had on dragging herself off to work so she could get a promotion to Pro Party Guest. It's not her LTW, but she had the want, and who am I to deny her?
Virginia, still thoroughly messed up in the romance department, went on a trip downtown, where she proceeded to jump into a photo booth with both Junior and Woody, and when she came home she was throwing up. I guess I'll find out when the kid is born who the father is. Meanwhile, Woody at college has rerolled his aspiration at the end of sophomore year, and is now knowledge/pleasure and has made a commitment to Juliette. Hermia has come to college as well, and is already engaged to Scot. Juliette will graduate at the end of next round, which would leave Hermia alone at Tri Var now that Miranda is gone, so they're scouting for a pledge. There's Sam Thomas, although she and Hermia don't really get along so far, or I could send Sadie Wilkie and/or Viola Toyonaga to college, or maybe Vanessa the cheerleader or Heather the cow mascot. (Her name is Heather Love, she's a romance sim, and the cafeteria worker is also a romance sim with the last name Love who I could easily set as Heather's mother in SimPE, so that might make an interesting addition to the neighborhood...) Hal, Rocky and River have two more rounds in the neighborhood before going to uni, and Hal (pop) and River (rom) are both single, so... We'll see.

Okay, feeling better (post chemo) and up to answering. Peni, you have mentioned Securum a couple of times to me. And, RoxEllen, I read the helpful links you sent me. Here's my problem. This computer and accursed windows 10 are so wonky that I am honestly loathe to try anything at this point. The info I read said it was hard to find the right no cd crack because there are so many dodgy websites out there. I have UC. I'm not asking you guys to do any research for me, but do you happen to know a dependable place for me to get what I need?

I've got it hooked up to Sim State, and it's worked great so far. I think my favorite pairing is Goldie Hart and Kevin Beare, although Brittany Upsnott and Hamilton Beech fascinate me, too. But ever since Land Grant University came out, I've been seriously tempted to play that somewhere - I kinda want to do Strangetown/Widespot/LGU at some point - but since I already have two Widespots, maybe not right now.
