Okay all, yes its me and I will need help in getting back into the Sims 2.

I had to have knee surgery and after it was done I lost most of my memory since about 2007.
My short term memory is shoot to hell and back and I have forgotten what I use to do with Sims 2.

I am installing Sims 2 Double Deluxe as I am typing.

Should I make a new thread in the Sims 2 forums to ask questions in or what should I do?

I would recommend making a new thread, because people can be very helpful at times and introduce you to new playstyles and ways to actually have fun playing the game. They can also give some good advice.
I would also recommend watching other people play, like Let's Plays. Whenever I'm bored I watch some of these videos to try and find a unique way for me to play and not get bored. Mixing in other people's styles plus
creating one of your own simultaneously is really fun.

The threads linked above are definitely very helpful to begin with.

I'd also suggest you to play through the scripted events of the base game hoods again as they're very refreshing after a long hiatus and definitely help getting back into the game. Especially if you play them in a complete new way! ^^
