This is probably a resounding "no", but it'd be neat if the food synthesiser had to be programmed explicitly with every recipe unless it was on a community lot: buying a food synthesizer for your home wouldn't let you make lobster thermidor unless you already knew how to make it. (Presumably a certain selection of common recipes at skill levels up to, say, 3 or 4, would still be available to anyone.) This would keep the Cooking skill relevant and also further drown out some of the menu clutter. A way of charging at least a percentage on residential lots (either adding to household bills or deducting from funds directly) would also help balance it against fridges and fresh ingredients.

The more I play of ITF the more it feels like such a quick 'Money, Dear Boy' cash-in. =P
